Minutes of the RSB-NC Board Meeting June 27, 2026
Attendance: Robert, Kelly, Viorica, Michael, Allen, Annie

Seeing that there were no comments or corrections, minutes were approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s report: (Robert):
- Membership renewals: 27 people so far have renewed ($1,079). Ordinarily we end up with 30-33 members ($1,200).
- TODO (Robert): Another appeal for membership renewal will go out soon.
Community Calendar: (Michael)
- DONE: Restart the Events Calendar devoted solely to Branch events. Michael set this up on our website (link). Now we need someone to add items on an on-going basis (e.g., recent St. John’s gathering, TCC events, EWS events for the general public, regular study groups, etc.) Michael will be the point person for posting events.
Community events: Review and comments
- St. John’s gathering: About 25 attended. Costs will be about $65 (supplies).
TODO: Annie & Robert to send photos to add to a page which Michael will set up.
Upcoming Events
- Proposal from Jenny Bingham to have Alan Thewless give a workshop on our relationship to the stars.
- Given that the proposed time — last week in August (?) — maybe we could ask for a later time.
- What are the costs for travel, honorarium, venue, etc.?
- Who wants to be the point person for this, to work with Jenny?
- Could be part of Michaelmas? August seems to be too soon. More than one person to plan. Joanna could also be involved (travel costs).
TODO (Kelly): Kelly will ask Jenny, how much will Jenny take on for this event? What is the contact for Alan Thewless? Annie will lead the planning with Viorica helping.
- Celebration for Michaelmas? Perhaps Joanna Carey will be in town? Has some health factors. Willing to do this with collaboration with others.
TODO (Allen): Allen will ask Joanna about how much help she will need to visit here. We are enthusiastic in having her offer something for Michaelmas. Would she be interested in doing something related to the Starry Heavens for Michaelmas?
Report on the status of Branch activities
- Study groups: Philosophy of Freedom study group; Study at the Christian Community pausing for summer & visits to community members (Judy Frey) pausing for summer.
- EWS: regrouping, envisioning, hiring. 2nd grade, 8th grade. New Board of Trustees, etc.
- Christian Community: moving to Hillsborough, Eno House. First service at new location on June 28th.
- Other Waldorf initiatives: Winston-Salem initiative: Robert and Suzanne will talk with them.
- Other initiatives: Biodynamics group break for the summer.
Set date for next Board meeting: Saturday, August 15, 10-12 PM (Zoom).
