From the Rudolf Steiner Branch-NC Board
Dear Branch Members and Friends,
At the Annual General Meeting in May, a number of members requested a discussion of concerns and issues that had arisen in the prior months. The new Board agreed to hold meetings with members who had concerns and requested members to submit their concerns to the Board. After four 2-hour meetings and speaking to other members of the community, the Board has decided that the major concerns have been heard to the best of our ability and it is not conducive to the well-being of the Branch to hold any further meetings.
It is not the place of the Board to make judgments on events that happened between individual members. It is also not within the scope of the Board’s work to mediate disputes between individuals. We trust that now that the concerns have been aired to some extent and each person involved has had a chance to both speak and listen – that these matters may be ended as a public concern.
We encourage the individuals involved to take responsibility for their words, their actions and their feeling life. We encourage those who feel they have not been sufficiently heard or their viewpoint has not been honored, to talk with that person directly and strive to understand the other person’s good intentions. We ask that members refrain from using email to voice their concerns.
Relationships are the fragile fabric of this community and relationships have been damaged – but they can be healed if we choose to see the good in each other. None of us is finished with our work. Our karma has brought us together to give us the opportunity to change past patterns, to forgive and learn to love one another.
The Board will send out no further email correspondence relating to these matters and we strongly urge that all those involved will strive for this ideal also. Issues of a Branch-wide nature can always be brought forward by members via normal Branch procedures.
Verse For America
May our feeling reach
To our heart’s inmost core
And seek to unite in love
With human beings of like aims,
With those Spirits who, full of grace,
Look down on our earnest, heart-felt striving,
Sending strength out of regions of light,
Bringing light into our Love.
