Minutes for the RSB-NC Board Meeting October 19, 2024 — DRAFT
Attendance: Robert, Viorica, Kelly, Allen; Annie (absent), Whitney (absent).
Opening verse
Approve Minutes of September 14th meeting. Approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s report:
- Free-will donation of $400 was made to EWS for First Class meetings for 2024-25.
- The Finding Healing Conference free-will deposit of $300 was made to EWS with lease agreement.
- New member: Patricia Pfost who lives on Churton St in Hillsborough.
- Finding Healing registrations have started with 10 registrations on the first four days. I am tracking the receipts and the registrations on an online spreadsheet.
- We will receive a check from the Rudolf Steiner Charitable Trust (RSCT) for $7,500 as a grant to Christina Beck and the Amaranth Eurythmy Theater. We will transfer the money to her when we receive it. Christina will be responsible for accounting for its use to RSCT.
- I measured the size of Judy Frey’s library: 33 linear feet of books.
Review of past events:
- Michaelmas gathering at the Bingham’s on Saturday, September 28th.
- Michaelmas celebration on Sunday, September 29 at Eve’s house.
Finding Healing Conference and Christian Community Founding
- Finding Healing Conference Friday evening and Saturday, November 15-16, with James Dyson, Jonah Evans, Christina Beck, and others.
- What help is needed to get the word out?
- What help is needed to support the Conference?
- We have agreed to sponsor this event: registration is set up using the Branch’s website and PayPal account. As individuals we can help in other ways.
- Founding of the Christian Community of Chapel Hill on Sunday, November 17th 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at Fleming Lodge at Camp New Hope.
Our intention is that our Festival offerings, going forward, are intended to be family oriented.
- The board is here to support festival initiatives to encourage Festivals that include children from the greater community. The board is not here to initiate or manage festival planning.
- In our next branch meeting we will discuss a desire to create festivals that are more inclusive of all ages. Possibly more artistic and including families.
Proposal to do a study at each Board meeting
- Kelly proposed that we study a text on the 3 Fold Social order at each Board meeting.
- To Do: Kelly will find a lecture we can study on 3 Fold Social Order
Other business
- Possibility of accepting and managing Judy Frey’s and our branch’s anthroposophical library.
Report on the status of Branch activities:
- Study groups. Threshold Group will start up
- EWS 40th year Anniversary this year:
- Christian Community: Rev. Claire Jerram from the CC will start a semi-monthly service on Thursday mornings 9:30/10 Friends Meeting Place on Alexander Ave in Durham.
- Other Waldorf initiatives.
Set date for next Board meeting: Saturday, December 7, 2-4 PM at the Mays home.
