Minutes for RSB Board Meeting May 23, 2016
Present: Robert, Diana, Judy, Kathleen and Ron. Absent: Kelly, Robin
Opening Verse
Approve minutes of previous meeting – motion to approve made by Judy, seconded by Ron, all in favor.
Election of Officers for 2016-17 – the following officers were nominated and elected unanimously:
- President – Robert Mays
- Vice-president – no nomination
- Treasurer – Kelly Calegar
- Recording Secretary – Diana Haynes
- Corresponding Secretary – Judy Frey
Board Membership (Robert) – We discussed seeking an additional member to serve on the Board to replace Tatiana, who has resigned because she has moved. Ron will check with one or two possible candidates.
Financial and Membership (Robert) – We discussed the transfer of Treasurer duties to Kelly. Kelly will update members names on the member listserv and website rolls. We discussed how to attract new members to join the Branch, for example, giving talks to EWS parents and teachers and contacting the people taking the Foundation Studies.
Heart Fund request (Diana) – We discussed two members of the community who have needs. No action at this time.
Newsletter (Kathleen) – The newsletter will end this summer, as the job is proving to be too much for Kathleen to do on her own. The Board discussed how to move forward.
RSB-NC Bylaws (Ron, Robin) – this has been deferred for now.
Events and Festival (Diana) – Reviewed the Matthew Dexter performance. Diana reported on status of events being coordinated by Planning Group. The St. John’s festival is being prepared. There are numerous thoughts for events for the fall.
Set date for next Board meeting: Friday, June 17 at 2 – 4 pm, at the Mays home
