Minutes of the RSB-NC Board Meeting June 23, 2024
Attendance: Allen, Annie, Viorica, Whitney, Robert (Kelly was absent)
Opening verse
Minutes of April 28 meeting were approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s report: Branch membership is now 33. First Class room rental for next year still needs to be set with the school.
Review of Branch Sponsored Event: on May 5th (Lynn Jericho presentation)
- How many attended? 12
- We discussed how to improve our future Branch events.
DONE: When Kelly receives a response from Viorica, Buddy, and Lynn regarding the forwarding of the flyer she will send the new flyer to them.
Preparations for St. John’s Tide at 6 PM were discussed.
Financial and social challenges for the future: considering the changes for the Christian Community in September. Discussion:
- How can we coordinate with TCC and assist the new resident priest? Host a dinner for the priests to meet the broader RSB-NC and EWS communities.
- How can we bring together the TCC, EWS, and Branch communities? Discussion of Eve’s dream about the eurythmy building on the EWS campus and how to get the word to EWS.
Discuss future plans for the Branch:
- Speakers to invite.
- Festivals: Future festivals – Michaelmas, Festival of the Unborn. Annie would like to be involved with Festival planning.
- Artistic events to sponsor.
- Future Branch meeting for the Fall – offering talks to teachers (3-4 sessions); a Branch conversation about the future.
Report on the status of Branch activities:
- Study groups. Threshold Group is on hold for now.
- EWS – will have more than 300 students this year.
- Other Waldorf initiatives.
- Christian Community. News of a resident priest who will move here in September.
- Biodynamics group. Jon Lyerly is back.
- Other initiatives
Set date for next Board meeting: August 24th at the Mays home.
