Approve the Minutes of October 19th meeting. Unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s report:
- Finding Healing Conference results:
- 75 people registered plus there were additional volunteers.
- Total registration Income: $3,256.
- Expenses: Rent: $300. Honoraria $1,340. Travel $308. Food/Supplies $1,242. TCC donation: $70.
- Total Expenses: $3,260. Net deficit: $4.
- We received the check from the Rudolf Steiner Charitable Trust (RSCT) for $7,500 and paid Christina Beck and the Amaranth Eurythmy Theater.
Review of past events: Finding Healing Conference, November 15-16
- Founding of the Christian Community of Chapel Hill, November 17
Upcoming community events (discussion)
- Holy Nights: do we want to encourage members to host an evening during the Holy Nights?
- TO DO: Allen will ask the community on the list serve if they would like to present anything. Biodynamic Stir, Carols sung?
- Emerson’s Advent Spiral will possibly be set up for community members to partake in.
- TO DO: Viorica will ask Emerson permission for someone to hold the key.
Elena Karoulina’s proposal:
- Jen Zimberg is a singer, composer, choral leader and educator and will be visiting the EWS HS tentatively on March 28. Songs of Joan of Arc is an original cycle of songs by Jen Zimberg. We are being asked to co-sponsor the public concert during Jen’s visit to the HS ($250).
- Performances: $250; Choral Singing Sessions: $150; 1 Classroom Session: $150
- Additional Classroom or Choral Singing Sessions: $100/session; Professional Development Sessions: $150-$250
- Travel Costs: Variable based on travel distance and proximity to other scheduled events.
- Note: Jason Child was not aware of this plan. We need to coordinate with Elena if we want to co- sponsor and participate.
Robert moved that RSB-NC be a co-sponsor to the Joan of Arc event up to $400.00. Kelly seconds. Approved unanimously.
TO DO: Robert will coordinate with Elena who is making the arrangements with the School.
Patricia Pfost’s proposal:
- Patricia would like to see “the creation and organization of a retreat to bring all age groups together (young adults and seasoned Anthroposophists) to explore each other’s needs and contributions.”
- Robert suggested that Gareth Dicker would be someone who can advise us about doing youth outreach activities like this. Since her original emails, Patricia has found that she is very busy and can’t make a commitment herself at this time.
- We will table this item for now and keep developing this idea.
Other business
- Review the schedule for the start of the calendar year (Robert) We need to set the day for the annual meeting.
- TO DO :Robert will Call for items of business by end of January on Listserv.
- Possibility of accepting and managing Judy Frey’s and our branch’s anthroposophical library (deferred).
Report on the status of Branch activities:
- Study groups: Threshold Group
- EWS: 40th year Anniversary this year
- Christian Community: Revs. Claire Jerram and Daniil Kalinov from the CC will hold a series of services on Advent Sundays, including a study of Prophetic Speaking in both the Old and New Testament. Plus, the full Christian Community services during the Holy Nights.
