Minutes for RSB Board Meeting December 11, 2018
Present: Kathleen, Robert, Kelly.
Verse, opening.
Recording Secretary: In the absence of an official recording secretary, Robert volunteered to take minutes.
Approve minutes: Motion: Kathleen moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Kelly seconded. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Kelly reported that there was no appreciable change in the Branch’s financial situation. We received the periodic $500 loan payment from the Chicago branch.
Festivals and Events:
- Review of first two Advent Sundays: Both celebrations were very well attended: Dec 2nd – 14 attended and Dec 9th – 16 attended. The talks and artistic exercises were much appreciated. We were able to walk the Advent Spiral at the school on the 2nd Sunday, a special experience.
- Branch Christmas Celebration: Dec 29 – Tentative items: Judy would like to offer a 2-person play, “Nathan the Wise.” Kelly would like to offer a talk on Winter in The Cycle of the Year as a Breathing Process of the Earth. Location and time TBD. TODO: Kelly and Roger – (1) Continue planning the event; (2) send notices out; (3) add it to the calendar.
- Holy Nights: TODO: Kelly – send out an invitation for people to host an evening.
- Branch Meeting – February 24: Edward Schuldt will give a talk on the Maitreya Buddha.
- RSB-NC Annual General Meeting – March 23.
- Dr. Ross Rentea Workshop – March 30: Ross can do the weekend of March 30 but use of the Brown wing is out. Friday (talk to parents) could be in HS (new wing? or Richards room). Saturday could be at a member’s home, new wing, or Richards Room. Total expenses roughly $1200 less ticket sales and donations. TODO: Kathleen will continue the planning.
- Branch Meeting – some time in May – Joanna Carey (possibly a music presentation).
- Amaranth performance – Christina will look for a possible performance in 2019.
- Lemniscate Arts Eurythmy Tour – will not be coming here in 2019.
TODO: Kathleen – ask Harry Kavros (EWS Administrator) about renting other rooms at EWS – Richards room, new high school wing, administrative building, etc.
Branch Library Discussion – postpone discussion until TODO: Roger meet with Judy.
Website Update – the calendar training video is available.
Next Board Meeting – Tuesday, January 15th, 2-4 PM at the Mays home.
