In the past several months, the RSB-NC Board has taken a number of steps toward enhancing the life of the Branch. To begin with, we hosted four meetings to address concerns raised by several members at the May AGM, and, while the proceedings were not perfect, they did allow the major issues to be heard to the best of our ability. We trust that these matters may be ended as a public concern, and we encourage those who feel they have not been sufficiently heard or their viewpoint has not been honored, to talk with that person directly and strive to understand the other person’s good intentions. We ask that members refrain from using email and posts to the list-serv to voice their concerns further.
We have now inaugurated our newsletter, The Michael Messenger, with a new name and in a different format. It’s available to read on-line and can also be printed and read in hard copy.
More recently, the Branch was treated to a very memorable Michaelmas celebration, coordinated by Joanna and supported by artistic presentations by many members of the Branch. We also had a wonderful visit by internationally recognized lyrist John Billing who performed a superb concert.
The Branch calendar is now full of the activities of the Branch — study groups, presentations, workshops, classes, festival celebrations and performances.
I strongly encourage you, our readers, to take a tour through the RSB-NC Branch web site: https://ncfm.rsarchive.net. The members-only sections of the web site are available to those who have paid the 2015 member dues. If you have paid dues but do not know how to access the members’ sections, please let me know.
Warm regards in this Michaelmas season!
Robert
