RSB-NC Annual General Meeting: Saturday, April 23, 12:30 PM — Earlier Time!
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, April 23, 12:30 – 3:30 PM at the Emerson Waldorf High School. The agenda will include reports from the Board, committees and the various anthroposophical initiatives in our community. We will also have elections for two Board members.
We will start off with a Eurythmy performance!
Christina Beck will present a short Eurythmy performance of two musical pieces and a meditative verse by Rudolf Steiner. Her presentation will coincide with the end of a Eurythmy Workshop she is giving that morning, and she has invited the members of the Branch to the performance as well.
After the performance we will begin the regular Annual General Meeting. The detailed agenda is listed on the Branch calendar.

Join the Branch or Renew Your Membership Now!
We usually spend a long time checking members in at the AGM because members do not renew their membership until the meeting. Reduce the delays and join or renew now!
- In person at the AGM: you can renew when you come to the AGM, but we recommend renewing earlier, to avoid the long line!
If You Don’t Renew Your Membership by the AGM…
We will send you a reminder email and then if you fail to renew, unfortunately, you will be dropped from our membership rolls.
The benefits you will lose include (1) access to the members’ listserv and members’ sections of the Branch web site, (2) the ability to vote at the AGM and Special Meetings of the members, and (3) discounts to members for selected events.
But we will always welcome you to renew your membership at any time!
Nominee Statement from Kelly Calegar
Kelly has been reading Dr. Steiner’s lectures and books for over two decades, knowing it to be a matter of destiny. She has lived here in Durham for 18 years and is a member of our local branch, and also a member of the First Class of the School of Spiritual Science. She has experience in financial accounting for non-profits, having worked for a Church and a local non-profit that benefits persons with different abilities. She currently works privately as a teacher of sacred movement, a facilitator of sacred circles, and as a bookkeeper.
Her other experience includes event management, business management, and previous board experience (on the board of the Emerson Waldorf School).
(Kelly has expressed interest in serving as Treasurer on the RSB-NC Board.)
Nominee Statement from Diana Haynes
I’ve been a student of Anthroposophy for 44 years. I did foundation year studies in 1975, 1 year of formal Eurythmy training in Spring Valley, NY and 15 years of part time study at Goldridge Eurythmy School in CA. In my professional life, I’ve worked in the Healing Arts as a practitioner and educator, running my own State Licensed Vocational school for over 30 years. I also developed skills in sales, marketing and product development and sat on 3 corporate boards in the private sector.
When I moved here nearly 4 years ago I became an active member of the local branch and joined the Christian Community where I hold the office of Secretary of Records and Correspondence. I became a member of the First Class of Spiritual Science in 2013 and was elected to the RSB board in 2015. I hold the office of Secretary of Records there and I post all events on the websites, send out announcements and coordinate the calendars for both the church and the society.
I have been active in the planning and implementing of the cultural work of this branch. I hope to continue my work in supporting our members who bring workshops, lectures and artistic events to the community. I’d like to help organize more events that will inspire members of this community. I strive to be open minded and respectful of the different paths and understandings represented in our membership.
