Minutes for RSB Board Meeting December 10, 2022
Present: Robert Mays, Kathleen Wright, Kelly DiPietro.
Opening verse
Approve minutes of September 24, 2022 meeting:
- Kathleen moves to approve. Robert seconds. Approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report (Robert): Robert presented the current Financial Position and the Income and Expense Reports, including comparison with last year. The overall net income for 2022 is $177.
- There were two new members who joined (Amanda Evans and Kay Wetson), bringing total membership to 32.
- We discussed getting a higher yield on our savings accounts/certificates of deposit.
- TO DO (Robert): Check out Baskbank.com for the Building Fund and Linda Folsom Bequest. Also compare with Coastal Credit Union.
Festivals and Events (Kathleen):
- Reviews of
- All Souls’ Observance, November 2 at the Mayses.
- Branch Meeting November 19 at Eve Olive’s; Lynn Jericho did a presentation called “63 and Beyond.”
- First and Second Weeks of Advent, November 27 and December 4; at the EWS Brown Room.
- Holy Nights:
- The Christian Community is having a five-day conference 12/29-1/1.
- The Kelders will have carols at their home on the 24th.
- Binghams possible gathering on Epiphany of reading 3 Kings Play.
To Do’s from last meeting:
- DONE (Robert): Robert wrote a proposal and shared it with the other board members regarding the lease proposal for a dedicated space building fund use.
- Motion: Kathleen moves that we send the lease proposal to the Christian Community Board, Kelly seconds; approved unanimously.
New Business:
- DONE (Kathleen): Kathleen invited Kathleen Stone Michael, perhaps to attend the next Board meeting. Unfortunately Kathleen Stone Michael declined Kathleen’s invitation.
- Discussed: Shall we purchase an easel for the Branch?
- TO DO (Kathleen): purchase easel for the Branch.
- Discussed: Preparation for upcoming AGM: Tabled until 1/21 Branch meeting.
- Discussed: Ways of recruiting new Board members.

Reports from initiatives and daughter movements in the area:
- EWS: No report.
- Christian Community: There will be a Holy Nights Retreat with Craig Wiggins December 29-January 1. Kathleen will be giving two talks about the burning of the First Goetheanum during two of the afternoons. Robert will help with the showing of the video about the First Goetheanum.
- Waldorf initiatives around the Triangle area continue to grow.
- Study Groups:
- Reading for the Dead – Eve Olive is hosting this group at her home on the second and fourth Tuesday afternoons of the month.
- Biodynamic Group – Continues to meet and stir and spray.
Next Board Meeting: January 7th, 2-4 PM at the Mays home.
