Minutes for RSB Board Meeting June 19, 2021
Present: Robert Mays, Viorica Comaniciu, Kathleen Wright, Kelly DiPietro
Verse, opening.
Approve minutes: MOTION by Kathleen to approve Minutes from May 22nd. Approved unanimously
Treasurer’s Report (Robert):
- DONE (Robert): Provide a current list of Branch members to the Board.
- DONE (Kathleen): Write a thank you note to Katherine Jenkins.
- TO DO (Robert & Kathleen): Take letters to change the signatures to both Self-Help and BB&T.
Website Report (Robert): Jim Stewart hosts the website and it is vulnerable to hackers.
- MOTION by Robert to pay Jim Stewart to help cover the cost of security up to $100.00 Kathleen seconded. Unanimously approved.
- TO DO (Robert): Reimburse Jim Stewart for website security plugin.
Festivals and Events (Kathleen):
- DONE (Robert): Send the check to EcoHeal.
- St. John’s Festival update: The Christian Community will host a two-day event. Rev. Matthias Giles and Reverend Emma Heirman will give a talk on St. John on the evening of June 23 . The following morning they will do the Act of Consecration.
- Anthroposophical Society AGM 2021 (Kathleen): Proposal from Hazel Archer Ginsberg. Do we wish to be one of the “host centers” she suggested?
- MOTION: Robert moved that we accept the offer of HAG to be a host branch for the AGM. 10/8/21-10/10/21. Kathleen seconds. Unanimously approved.
- We will provide a place for zoom lecture viewing in a social environment possibly at Robert’s house.
- TO DO (Kathleen): speak with Hazel and Judy for further clarification. Discuss and make decision. Still in process.
Projects and Events for the upcoming year. We chose from the previous list of Speakers and Presenters.
- DONE (Viorica): Call the Eurythmists in the area to see if they want to do a performance in the Fall.
- Bride and Rachael are interested in an Advent/Holy Nights offering.
- DONE (Kathleen): Contact Sandy LaGrega, Andrew Linnell, and Mark Hancock about the possibility of an event with our Branch in the coming year.
- Sandy declined.
- Andrew Linnell offered to do a workshop/lecture event on Transmuting Technology and various other topics from Mystech Conference.
- MOTION: Kathleen moved to invite Andrew Linnell to do the workshop he proposed 11/5/21-11/6/21. Roberts seconds. Approved unanimously.
- The full budget will be approximately $1200.00 in honorarium plus other total expenses. Board members are willing to offer housing and rides to Andrew while he is here.
- TO DO (Kathleen): invite Andrew to give workshop/lecture.
- TO DO (Kathleen): initiate a Michaelmas dramatic performance production.
Calendar dates for events, festivals and Branch meetings:
- Christmas/Holy Nights possible Eurythmy
- TO DO (Viorica): report back via email regarding Eurythmy performances at Christmas and Holy Nights.
- Spring events tabled for another meeting.
Initiatives and daughter movements in the area
- Emerson Waldorf School has 236 contracts for next year, more than ever before including 4 preschool classes. Benjamin Trueblood will take first grade.
- Christian Community – continues to meet when priest is available. Holding St. John’s Festival June 26th at Smiley home and park.
- Biodynamics -continues to meet and have community biodynamic stirs and sprays.
- Study groups– Joanna Cary continues to host the Reading to The Dead study group.

- DONE (Robert): Post a new picture on the website.
- DONE (Kelly): Type up minutes and submit to Robert.
Set date of Next Board Meeting: August 21 at 2:00 pm at Robert’s home.
